The Midsummer Light
The Swedish Midsummer is almost here.
The days are at their longest now, and the forests seem to hold a special kind of light. Mornings begin early, evenings linger, and for a few precious weeks it feels as if the sun never truly leaves.
Tomorrow I will travel north to Dalarna to celebrate Midsummer, one of Sweden’s most cherished traditions. A time of wildflowers, maypoles, family gatherings, and the quiet beauty of nature in full bloom.
For me, Midsummer is a reminder to slow down and appreciate the simple things: the scent of the forest after rain, the song of birds at dawn, the warmth of sunlight on skin, and the feeling of cold water around me at the start of a new day.
Wherever you are in the world, I hope you find a moment to step outside, breathe deeply, and enjoy the beauty of the season.
Warm wishes from Sweden,
